amylopectin

A polysaccharide that, with *amylose , makes up starch. It consists of glucose units linked by α(l-4) glucosidic bonds with branches formed by α(l-6) bonds. The molecular weight of amylopectin may be as high as 107. It can form either colloidal or micellar solutions with water. See also amylase.
