campylotropous

Describing a form of ovule orientation in which the ovule develops horizontally and the funiculus appears to be attached half way between the chalaza and the micropyle. This arrangement is not very common but may be found in the Malvaceae and Caryophyllaceae. Compare anatropous , orthotropous.
