chromosome mutation

(chromosome aberration) An alteration in the number, order, or arrangement of genes caused by structural changes to a chromosome. Sometimes chromosome mutation may involve a large number of genes and the aberration may be visible by microscopy. There are four classes of chromosome mutations; *deletions, *duplications , *inversions , and *translocations.
