pseudoplasmodium

A small sluglike aggregation of myxamoebae that acts as a unit but within which each *myxamoeba remains distinct. The fruiting structure is a sorocarp, which is sometimes borne on a slender cellulose stalk, the sorophore. This type of organization is found in the *Acrasiomycetes.
