Pteropsida

A subdivision or class of *vascular plants. In some classifications it includes only the ferns (see Filicinae ), while in others it also includes the *Gymnospermae and *Angiospermae. The Pteropsida differ from the Psilopsida,   Sphenopsida,   and   Lycopsida   in having large leaves often with a highly branched vascular system and leaf traces that leave a gap where they depart from the stele.
