sequestrol

A preparation of trace elements used to treat deficiency diseases, particularly those caused by lack of iron or magnesium. The elements are chelated to promote their uptake by plant roots and prevent them becoming bound to the soil particles. A preparation containing a particular element is named accordingly, e.g. sequestering iron.
