soil-borne diseases

Any plant disease that originates from inoculum in the soil. *Damping-off and *club root are typical soil-borne diseases. Control can be difficult and methods include crop rotation, fumigation, chemical treatment, soil sterilization, the use of seed dressings, and improved cultural methods (e.g. better drainage).
