uredospore

(urediospore) A dikaryotic spore formed in a spore cluster (a uredosorus or uredium) by certain rust fungi. The uredospores of Puccinia graminis are formed on the main host, wheat, and are responsible for the characteristic rusty streaks of infected plants. On release they infect more wheat plants.
